Help!
Have a 89 245 that will not idle and will run VERY rough if I pump the gas pedal and try to keep the rpm's up. The check engine light does not illuminate and there are no fault codes in the ecu. I unplugged the air mass meter and bingo, the car will now idle and run. I then checked the amm per the Bently manual and I read about 3.5 ohms between pins 2-3 which is in limits. I checked the ground and it's ok and then I checked for a voltage output at pin 3 of the amm. With the ignition on, I had 1.6 volts and it increases with airflow.
Before I start replacing parts, does anyone have any ideas? It "seems" that the amm is ok but I wonder if the ecu is bad? If the amm circuit in the ecu went bad, would the "limp home" mode still work?
Any ideas would be very much welcomed!
Thanks.
