A friend has an 85 240dl that someone installed an 88 engine in before he bought it. The transmission went out, transmission fluid pours out the front of the trans, must be front pump seal. 85 was the last year of cable driven speedos. Does he have to put in an 85 or earlier trans for the speedo to work? Thank You in Advance!
