Hi, I've not been around lately but need help now. A woman friend who is traveling from SF to LA is having trouble with her trans, '91 740. She has one leg so not very mobile and is with her son on vacation so needs a recommendation for quality service in LA/ Anaheim Disney area ASAP.
The trans is shifting erratically, sometimes downshifts for no reason and sometimes doesn't upshift or does but at the wrong points. She's second owner, 120k, has had the car for a year and it's been a good one til now.
Her local mech had said he thought he heard a growl but couldn't find anything wrong and she couldn't hear it so she left on the trip. Any assistance appreciated.
