Relay next to ignition coil? What is it for? 200 1992

Hi all: I have a 1992 240 Sedan. B230F engine. Non-Turbo. 120,000 miles. 3speed autom. trans w/overdrive.

QUESTION? There is a relay mounted next to (actually on the side) of the ignition coil.

It's between the ignition coil and the ABS brake unit.

What is this relay for?

My 1993 240 does not have this relay here, nor do my two 1987 240's.

Any assistance in identifying this relay would be appreciated..... Thanks
