altenative to Air Intake Hose 700

Has anyone come up with an alternative to the accordianed air intake hose. I've looked for a replacement at my local upick (someone always beats me to it) and I'm hunting solution to an intermitant hesitation in the engine.

After looking at the solid hoses on a turbo, I was wondering about the possibility of replacing the hose with a sequence of solid hoses.
