So I finally got my 164 running and moving. It runs just fine, but I'm not used to the transmission and wondered if what was happening was normal.
When at a full stop she idles fine, when I go, and put a little foot into her, she seems to slip, like a gear slippage, and then the tires either cut loose or freeze (It makes a short squeal) When accelerating, she likes to stay in third if I'm anywhere above 35 and if I punch it, it kicks down to what seems first, goes high rev, but doesn't seem to accelerate. Also, she doesn't like to go fast from a stop and shift into second, she seems to slip out of gear all together and it takes a short period of no gas to catch a gear.
I'm sorry if this seems confusing, but I'm confused.
Does it have anything to do with a frozen caliper?
Should I drop the tranny pan and flush out the fluid and replace the filter?
My odometer doesn't work either, is that a symptom of something greater?
