Low Mileage update 200

Last week I replaced my alternator as it was undercharging and some of the diodes had burnt out. I was getting 17 MPG before replacement. After replacement, I'm getting about 25MPG. Seems the lower charge on the battery was delivering lower voltage to the ECM thus causing the car run real rich. Never thought this could be the cause, but I no longer have that faint smell of gas under the hood and my mileage has dramatically increased.
