Removing Stoneguard ... What's my best approach? 120-130 1968

I've got stoneguard on the bottom of my doors etc. that I want to remove, but I don't want to get too deep into whatever might be under it (bondo, whatever). What would be my best approach for removing the stuff? So far the only thing working is an aggresive sandpaper on an orbital sander. I don't think I want to use a grinder on it.

Any suggestions? Thanks everyone!
