145E won't restart after short trips. 140-160 1972

I have a 1972 145E and it runs and starts perfectly fine. But I go inside the grocery store for 5 minutes, and it won't start when I come back out. It usually takes about 5-10 minutes of waiting and turning the ignition before if starts again.

What gives?
