Thule bike rack on a Volvo trailer hitch 900

I can get my hands on a Thule 934 bike only problem is my 93 945 wagon has the Volve factory trailer hitch. This looks like a rectangular 3 inch receiver on the car. The 2 inch Thule doesn't quite fit inside. Anyone have any experience with this?
