Starting issue on a 91 240. 200

Sometimes the car will randomly not start... it will crank but not start. I have found that if i unplug the battery for a couple seconds and then try again it comes to life. I was thinking it could maybe be the main relay (if these cars have them?). Any help is greatly appreciated.
