Fuel pump relay redesigned, or just wrong part? 900 1992

Ordered new fuel pump relay as preventive maintenance measure on 960 (see prior post on sudden shutdown). Dealer sent small green cubical relay, part number 9494787. Looking at relay marked "B" on the passenger side of the front console, the original relay is more than twice as deep and somewhat larger in cross-section. Has this relay been redesignd and reduced in size, or do I have the wrong part entirely? If the wrong part, anybody know what the correct part number is for the relay I need? Anybody know the use for the part I got?
Thanks.
P.S. Is the crankshaft speed sensor as big a PITA to install as it looks? Do I need to find somebody with a lift and do it from the bottom?
