So I have these two cars, see? One's a 1987 740 with an M46, and the other's a 1980 240 with what I believe to be an M45 or similar (four speed, no overdrive). I'm desperately in need of a clutch, and lately I've been doing many things to this car, the least of which involved giving it a "shave and a haircut" with the help of a sawzall, so stealing one more part from it is not likely to hurt. So I'm wondering...are these clutches compatible? FCPGroton's site suggest that yes, they are, however I'd really like to avoid the undue effort I'd need to exert to confirm this (of course, I need a new clutch, anyway, but I'd rather not find out that it's a no-go *after* installing), so does anybody else have experience with this or part numbers to compare? I'm really hoping this wagon will once again save the day and give me those last parts I in my greatest time of need... :D
Oh, and as was advertised on Turbobricks and mentioned above, the car was sort stripped over these past few days for any and all useful parts, so if anyone is interested, feel free to post a response with a part request and I'll tell you if I have it (and what condition it's in) or not. FYI, car is a red 1980 240 Wagon (note that all doors and their respective parts, as well as the fuel system is gone).
Cheers
