Parking brake shoe install 1993 964 900

So I pulled my bad parking brake shoes on the driver side, loosened the cable at the junction in the center console and reinstalled new shoes. Now I can't get my rotor back on! I've tried loosening the cable as much as possible but with no luck. Pulled the new ones to make sure I had them on right and found no probelms. Anyone have a magic bullet for this?
