Last night at 1:30 A.M. I was still laying awake and found a program series called 'Voyages' on the International History Channel.
The episode I watched was filmed in the late 1980's (I think) and started with Volvo making commercial trucks in 1927, then the problems the new car company faced during the Depression and the following WWII years.
Over all, it was a fair basic telling of the tale, except that they showed PV544's several times but never mentioned them by model number. All they talked about for the PV's were the very early ones and how well designed and built the PV444 - they called it the "PV-triple four" - was and how virtually all of Volvo's export business was built on it.
They talked a little about the great international winning streak Volvo had in the late 1950's through the early 1960's but credited all those wins to the 120-series 'Amazon' cars.
You might watch your local listings to see if they will re-braodcast this program so you can tape it.
