A short story. My 88 Volvo has 275,000 kilometres on the clock and hasn't missed a beat in all the years I've had it. My son has an 89 Toyota Cressida which has 155,000 kilometres on the clock and which has just blown a head gasket. Unless people are telling us the wrong things, everything we're hearing suggests the Cressida head gasket had a design flaw and it's not unknown for a well maintained Cressida to develop that fault at around 150,000 Ks. As a father, I sure feel for my son but I'm mighty glad that Big Red keeps chuggin along.
P.S. We live in Canberra, Australia. Any advice as to the Cressida's repairs would be welcome.
P.P.S. Happy Motoring!
