I need some urgent assistance.
a few days ago i decided to clean out my flame trap (B23E), as it has never been done after 344000+ km. I pulled the flame trap, and it was completely blocked. I cleaned out and degreased the flame trap fully and replaced the hose that runs up to the intake manifold. (i couldnt replace the fat hose, it wouldnt come off from where it was attached at the base of the intake..) Anyway,
so after i replaced all these, removed and replaced intake manifold, gaskets and cleaned everything i could reach, installed a new oil press sender and topped up the oil i took the car for a drive, got home and oil was leaking everywhere.. and lots of it.
At idle, there was a visible dribble of oil coming from the very front of the sump gasket, right above the steering rack. overnight it leaked about a half cup of oil, but was literally pouring out with the motor running.
I can blow through the oil separator/ flame trap and feel the air blowing strongly at the oil filler hole.
BUT, with the motor running and the filler cap off, there is lots of air coming out of the filler hole- enough to flap a piece of cloth around if its placed on top.
Im really starting to lose my rag here, so any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Chris.
