240 tidbits 200

Hey everyone.

Few more questions about my 240... Firstly, I don't think mine has the right shock absorbers. Or quite possibly something's wrong with mine. Ever since I got the car, the ride has been rough. Really rough. The car barely rolls around corners and doesn't shift the front end at all when accelerating hard. It feels really well tied down, but it's horrifically uncomfortable and seems to be causing more and more little rattles(some of them under the car!). Is the 240 meant to have cushy, forgiving suspension that makes it glide over subtle road imperfections, or can everyone else also feel every bump in the road and get thrown upwards when slowly going over speed humps?

Now on to those rattles. The one on the outside used to be quiet and only happen under heavy acceleration, eg when overtaking uphill. Now it's always there, but sometimes shuts up at cruising speed. Is this that one caused by heat shields or something? How smart would I have to be to tighten/remove them?

And finally, my car has only done 159 800kms since new. How quiet should the engine/exhaust system be? When idling or lightly accelerating in enclosed areas, eg McDonalds' drive-thru/indoor parking lots, the car sounds really, really 'manly', and roars a fair bit when I touch the throttle. Could I have a hole somewhere in the exhaust system?

I'm saving about $500 so I can take the car to a mechanic and (hopefully) get them to fix every problem, so it helps if I know what is and isn't a problem so I knew whether to add it to the list.

Thanks for any help. :-)
