Do all 740's have these ? I just got back from a 7000km jaunt and the vents shut off going up hill, hoping that it was that valve I looked on the big hose from my intake manifold down for it... nothing, nowhere under the hood can I find anything like the IPD picture, I wonder if it was removed from my car or did it never have one, I know the flame trap was taken out by my local Danish mechanic who said that it was more trouble than it was worth and I wonder if he took out that thingy too I also hope it isn't the vacuum actuator in the vent box as I don't look forward to the description of that job. Oh yeah its an 89 normall aspirated 740 8v with an M47 5 speed
