Tried to fix my 87' 240's a/c system. So far I have not been successful, but it's only a matter of time (already installed compressor, new condensor, but compressor just failed). My neighbor's been helping me. He's an HVAC specialist. I looked on the web for an a/c kit for his 94 toyota pickup and found one at ackits.com. When he got the kit, we realized that the condensor was not your normal tube and fin one. It is a universal parallel flow condensor. Did some research and found that it is up to 1/3 more efficient than the tube and fin setup. His a/c freezes you out. I am also pretty sure why my compressor failed prematurely. The condensor was not cooling the replacement R-12 (hotshot) very well. With regular R-12 it should have been find but that stuff is expensive. If you get a condensor, get a parallel flow one!
Good luck,
Daniel
