I am having troubel with the exhaust on my little 740. A week ago I was on short trip into town when the exhaust got progressivly louder and started to vibrate through out the cabin. The pipes looked fine but the resinator and muffler were rusted out. I replaced the muffler and resinator...that didnt help. So my next step was gaskets. The gasket engine-side of the cat was worn and carboned up so I replaced it. I also replaced the gasket on top of the Y-pipe coming down front he engine. All the hangers are new within the last yeah as well as the rubber bushings. After replacing all of this it still gets loud in the cabin when I am accelerating or criusing on the road. If I let off the gas at around 50-60 there is a slow pulsating vibration in tne cabin from the front seats twords the engine. It feels as if the problem is right my feet. I'm guessing whatever it is, is between the cat and the engine, but I have no idea what to check. Also last night I noticed some slugginsh sputtering acceleration and what semmed like missing, so the back pressure might be screwed up now or maybe a sensor is of somewhere...but at this point I'm out of ideas. One more thing, I've noticed it doesn't to loud from outside of the caronly when in the cabin can the vibrating and noise really be heard
Any help would be great
