alternator wiring 200 1984

I hope someone can help: I'm putting an alternator on my neighbors' 245, and I need to know where the wires go- specifically the little green one that is wrapped with the oil sending unit. It looks like it should go on the back of the alt., but it's been awhile since I took the old one off and I forget where everything goes. Thanks
