V90 Rear Brakes S90-V90

Just had a look at the rear brakes on my '97 Volvo V90 and they need renewing. The pads are almost to metal and the discs look like they aint been changed in years too. I know these Volvo's have a disc/drum formation that seems complex. Whats the procedure for changing and is it worth me changing the brake shoes inside the drum while I've got the disc/drum off.
