960 transmission 900

Hi All
Added another Volvo - 95, 960, 138k miles with blown transmission. As I read in this forum from time to time, there is oil in the coolant reservoir which shows that the transmission has been ruined by the coolant. I have contacted some dismantlers and one has transmission from '97 960 with 68K miles for $ 500. I have some questions for experienced ones: 1. Is the damaged transmission rebuildable ? 2. Will '97 unit will fit '95? 3. How we can verify the information about the used unit that it is indeed from '97 with 68K miles? 4. If I opt for used unit, how to flush the transmission lines that has contaminated fluid with coolant? Since I am new to 960 (I have 2 940's and one 240) what other components I have to take care.
Thanks as always
Ram
