I have only seen a couple of references to the usage of DexCool, the GM coolant used since 1996, on this site, but I thought that I would post this note to anyone that might have it in their system.

We ran into problems selling a consigned , otherwise perfect, 1998 S10 because of the coolant that was being used so I did an online and local radiator specialty shop investigation. Because of what we found, I am sending the truck back to the owner, since there is no way that it should be sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Apparently there are several major class actions suites against GM because of the number of cooling system problems from running DexCool. I would suggest that anyone using the product or thinking of using the product in their Volvo do their own investigation of the product.
