Tachometer ground? 200

Quick question -

I grounded the small tach I installed a few weeks back to the bolt on the upper corner of the instrument cluster - the tach works fine, but I'm wondering if I'm possibly messing with my gauge readings as a result. I've seen the temp gauge read both high and low after making the change - though through no correllation to engine RPMs. Anyone suggest a better ground, if my initial choice is a bad one?

Thanks - Zach
