I've complained in earlier posts about how the '89 240 automatic will "limp-to-life" versus revving up nice and strong when I start the car. When the car is started, the engine cranks right up quickly, but it doesn't idle high enough. I have a 561 ECU that is supposedly "remanufactured."
I'm going to try and tackle this by first disassembling the Idle Air Control Valve and cleaning it out. I also want to clean the throttle body. Do I need to take the throttle body apart in order to clean it??
Also, I've read that the O2 sensor could cause this?? Crank position sensor??
I need some help with going from simple to complex troubleshooting.
Thanks for the help.
