Hi,
I'm getting tired of having to fiddle with bulbs or replace them every week or so. Problems have been either water related or not making good contact. My 90 240 came with some aftermarket tail lights that haven't held up well. They have warped quite a bit from the heat.

I can think of three options:
1) Use existing tail lights but solder wires to the socket tabs effectively eliminating the printed circuit board. I found one post that someone had done this.
2) Replace the tail lights with others that I have salvaged using new circuit boards.
3) Get entirely new tail light assemblies with new circuit boards.

Here are some questions:
1) Are there good quality aftermarket tail light assemblies out there? FCP Groton sells new Volvo assemblies for about $125 with all the parts (bulbs, circuit boards, sockets, etc.) which doesn't sound too bad except that it totals $250. They have a fully loaded aftermarket assembly for about $100.
2) FCP Groton sells an aftermarket circuit board for $25 per side. Any experience with these?
3) What would you do? I'm not totally opposed to spending the $250- the car is pretty nice and I'm planning on keeping it but part of me is really tempted to do the rewiring and just seal up the lenses well from leaks.
