headlights not working 200 1987

It's definitely monday.
I have a remote start on my 87 245. I started it like normal. When I got in I put the key in and turned it. Normally if you haven't put the key in after you remote start it, when you depress the brakes the car dies. This time I definitely put the key in and turned it and then pressed the brakes to take it out of park. The car kept running but the headlamps went out and I can't get them on again. So I borrowed a car and I'll look at it tonight. I'd like to hear all opinions about what where to look.
