PS Belt - Help! 200 1989

I have a 1989 Volvo 240 DL. The fan belt recently exploded while in transit. Noticed at the time that the Power Steering belt was twisted and cracked as well. Suffice it to say -- replaced the fan belt w/ no trouble; BUT -- when I went to replace the PS Belt -- I couldn't get the components moved enough. PS pump moved out of the way w/ no problem. It's the AC compressor (I think) that's giving me grief. I do have a Haynes manual but it's not overly helpful. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
