Highly considering '92 960 wagon 900 1992

Hello guys- it's been a long time since I posted on Brickboard. I have a 1996 850 sedan with 66k miles which is in perfect, mint condition.

Just this afternoon, while at a Honda dealership checking out cars, I came across a clean-looking 1992 960 wagon. This car had 130k miles on it and believe me, it was incredibly clean. The 960 had been owned only by an elderly lady who had traded it in this past afternoon on a new Honda Accord- it has all maintenance records and I was told it has never been driven in the winters (I live in VT). To make a long story short, I've fallen in love with this car and I personally lobbied the dealership not to let it go to the wholesalers, as I'd like to get it before someone else buys it and abuses it- I take exceptional, meticulous care of my cars.

Now this is where I need some sound advice. I was told the lady got $1500 for a trade-in on this '92 960- what is the lowest possible price that I could offer the dealer for this car? I am thinking about offering them between $1200 and $1500, since they told me they don't want to have anything to do with a high-mileage, 13-year-old Volvo. Also, I'm planning to have it thoroughly checked out by a Volvo mechanic- the mandatory pre-purchase inspection before I buy any car of any kind. I'm 22 years old, by the way- would insurance rates be kind to a young person of my age, considering this car is old? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time!
