We kindly need help with an unusual no start condition. Vehicle is a 1991 Volvo Wagon with B230F engine and Regina (Bendix) ignition system and 161,000 miles. Condition is as follows: Car is parked outside in south Florida. Temperatures and sun very hot. Irregularly, car, whether engine is hot or cold, will turn over but not start - tachometer on dash will not move when this no-start condition occurs. Car will start when outside temperature cools off.
Parts replaced include: fuel pump relay; cap, rotor, wire, plugs; flywheel crank sensor. Fuel injection relay (radio suppression relay) replaced about 2 years ago. I suspect that the very hot, sunny outside temperatures may be causing this intermittent condition with some electrical component?? This evening, when the problem most recently occurred, car could be started after about 20 minutes but engine ran extremely rough with a strong miss and I was barely able to get home; could not get engine to run over about 30 mph. Any help, suggestions, leads or thoughts, as always, would be most appreciated.
