What gas octane does 8 valve B230F really need ? 900

We own a 1991 740 wagon and 1993 940 wagon, both with B230F engines and
Regina fuel injection. The owners manuals say the recommended gas
is 91 octane. Since the standard gas octanes around here are 87, 89
and 93, we have always used 93 octane. Gas prices have become so high
that I am wondering if these engines run OK on 89 or 87 octane ?
