760 gle starting problems 700

my 760 gle as always been a bit hit and miss on starting,especially when hot.
Ive just had the rpm sensor out and cleaned off a a fair bit of dirt,starting now seems to be a bit easier.
My question is are these units pretty much commom across volvo models or other cars?.
The number on mine is Bosch 0281210 with the yellow band.
