The Volvo is a 1997 965.

Dangdest thing I have run into on volvo wipers.

I cannot get the wiper blade off the arm.

Done already:

Make blade perpendicular to arm.

Squeeze plastic thing to release hook of the arm from the pivot in the blade.

Slip arm into blade, move to the side, slip arm out of blade.

THAT'S the step that won't do. The place where the arm must move to the side is too small. The arm won't move over far enough to be removed.

The blade is a plastic thing, very streamlined. Has no brand name or other markings on it except that on the inner side are two locations that say "USA".

The plastic side that faces outward is not a smooth finish like a Bosch or Anco metal blade, it sort of glitters.

Any ideas from anyone? I just know the dealer will want to sell me an expensive replacement job.
