Transmission cooling line leak at rear fitting - knowledge and advice requested 200 1990

I am losing transmission fluid where the cooling line enters the fitting on the rear of the transmission(not the o-ring). Before I attempt a repair I'd like to know kind of fitting this is. Is this a flare fitting? If so can I cut off the last inch of the line, reflare it and put it back.

I know if I do this I'll have to splice the line where I cut it - probably with fuel line hose.
