I am putting together a 1990 244 for my son. Cruise control on the car was working. It has been off of the road for awhile and the most recent work has been a repaint. I removed the trim, bumpers, and lights. Got it back together yesterday and found the cruise nonfunctional.
I have brake lights, bulbout sensor works properly, and the yellow wire is in place on the speedometer. All the fuses have been cleaned but I double checked #12 and it is fine.
All the wiring under the bolster seems to be intact.
With the car running when I apply vacuum to the hose leading into the car the engine speed increases and holds steady without apparent vacuum loss over time.
I swapped out the vacuum pump with one from a parts car that I assume is OK. Still nothing.
With the car running I don't get 12v on any of the three wires attached to the vacuum pump, but I get the same results on our 745Ti and the cruise works fine on it. Perhaps that has something to do with no speed sensed=no enabling.
Suggestions on how to proceed? Thanks.
