Hi All,
Just wanted to post a follow-up, I replaced my starter on the 89 240, solved the poor crankind issue (previous posts last week).
Note that the replacement was very easy from underneath with a couple of long extensions, As I recall I use around 26" off the rachet. Whole job took around 30 minutes.
I did an otopsie on the old starter, the brushes (four of them) were worn down to NOTHING, basically trying to contact the springs to the armature.
I guess I'll take a peak at the dealer if they have replacement brushes and keep it as a spare for the fleet since they all have the same one.
