1965 wagon - oil filler cap venting and hose connections 120-130

Due to the tweakings of the previous owner on my 65 wagon, I am not sure what was changed from the stock set up re: oil filler cap venting and hose connections.

There is a vented oil filler cap, but....there is no hose that connects the vent on the oil filler cap to the #1 carb intake. Furthermore, connection to the intake of the #1 carb isn't possible as there is no thin hollow plate between the air filter and the carb that the hose can connect to, nor does the air filter housing have a connection point for the hose. Perhaps these things were removed, perhaps they were never there.

On the drivers side of the block, there is a metal tube comes out from the side of the block, starts upwards and then does a sharp u-turn and heads down and vents out at the bottom near the oil pan. There is no flame trap.

Given this arrangement should the original stock set up be:
Door #1: a vented oil filler cap with a hose to the #1 carb intake?
Door #2: a vented oil filler cap with no hose?
Door #3: a non vented oil filler cap?

This is unfamiliar territory....so if I have left out some key information here, let me know.

waggin.
