a/c by-pass 88 240 200 1988

Well, my a/c compressor is dead - smoke, shrieking belts, plagues of locusts. The a/c hasn't worked since I've owned the car, and I'd rather not replace the compressor just to use the power steering.

IPD sells a by-pass kit, but it only applies up to 84 models. And FCP sells a power steering belt for 77-93 cars without a/c, but they also sell different p/s belts for 78-84 and 85-92 cars with a/c, so I'm guessing the pulley spacing is different.

Is replacing that stupid compressor really my only option?
