Upset! Mechanic has messed up my ride and cant fix. 700

I have 1985 760 turbo. It ran fine when I took the car in to have my a/c recharged. They recharged it and replaced the a/c suction hose. When I drove away the car would lose power and act like it was going to die and then surge back to normal running when first driven. This is dangerous while driving. I could get rear ended. The car also will stall when after sitting at a light when I go to acclerate from first. The mechanic first said they must have broken a vacuum hose and that they replaced it. After looking under the hood and seeing the same old hoses, I took it back and stated the problems were still there. Today they said they changed the plugs and did an engine flush(no charge). I am sure they only changed the plugs! 50.00 later still same problems. I do not know what to do. Any ideas if this is something I could diagnose and fix?
