245 wagon tailgate window repair -replacement 200 1989

i shouldn't have done that. an expression i've become quite good at saying in my 52 years.

i used a length of stick to prop open the tailgate as i got something out. gave no thought to the sound of "whump" as i went to front of car. well, it seems the stick had slipped onto the glass, and when it did, the tailgate came down popping out the top 1/3 of glass still in it's rubber seal. . and bad car-ma , it's raining today!

so question is, is there a way of seating the glass/seal back into frame? or is this a job out of my league?
