Wires in the wagon hatch hinges? 200

Hello,

I'm the proud owner of a (new to me) 88 240 wagon. It's a beaut. During a detailing session today I noticed that there are wires in the hinges for the rear hatch. Those wires are almost all broken, only 2 on the RHS are still intact. I checked the rear wiper and it works, so does the licence plate light. So what else could it be, maybe the defrost? What else do those wires carry power to.

Any tips on reconnecting them? Thanks.

PS: I changed the rear shocks yesterday, to my shock (no pun intended) they were original, 130K miles. What a difference now.
