I have a 1991 740 Turbo Wagon. The car has been getting poor gas milage of late. Recently the 'Check Engine' light came on. and the car became barely driveable, it stalls and has little power. I got the On Board Diagnostic code and it was 1-2-1 which indicates the Air Mass Meter.
I understand the AMM is easy to change, but where is it? Is expensive, is there any thing I could do to test it before I spend 200-300 dollars?
Not related (I think) the speedo needle has been jumping erratically. Is this a related issue, if not what can cause this? My mechanic told me low voltage or a bad connector.
