m47 removal - do I need to rotate engine? 200 1989

just started the clutch replacement this morning. While I wait for blaster to work on shifter setscrew I have question.

I found one reference in forums to removing an engine mount to allow the engine to rotate to clear the starter motor bulge on bellhousing from body. Do I need to do this? i've got the engine supported from rear hanger. I don't think it will move much like this. I cannot get upper starter bolt out of its hole-it hits the body.

Thanks.
