I'm having air flow problems under the hood of my 262. I've added an electric fan but if I tach the engine up on a hot day my temperature goes to 11 o'clock on the gauge. It goes down if I turn off the air conditioning and get it up to highway speed but will remain hot in city traffic. Replaced the thermostat and installed new radiator. I'm suspecting the fan clutch might be the problem as I never hear it kick in when the car is hot. The fan does "whoosh" for about a minute when I first start the car in the morning, but hasn't when the temp gauge is reading hot. I opened the hood while the engine was running and showing a hot temperature. I reached in the car and turned off the engine and the mechanical fan kept free-wheeling after the engine stopped. I think I should be in the market for a new fan clutch but I'd like to know if there is a "best" clutch that I should be looking for. Did one particular model/year have a better performing fan clutch than others? I know that the 4 cylinders had a tropical fan clutch available but I can't find any information if there was one available for the V6. Thanks, Rick
