My nephews' 78 244 started to run irratically and died. Then after I had him replace cap, rotor, used coil, I finally had the thing towed to my house. Within 2 hours I remounted the coil properly, hooked up large "S" shaped hose that connected to the manifold and what I think is the warm or cold start injector area. Before I noticed the tubing (hose) was disconnected, it was coughing and puffing and smoking out the intake. Turns out the plug wires were in order, but ONE space off! So I rotated the wires and the car started and idles perfectly! I hope anyone else who experinces these symptoms can learn from my trials!
