I have a 240Dl 1989. I am taking my car to the shop tomorrow morning, but I probably have 90 miles I need to drive before I get there. I noticed a white, steamy smoke that smells an awful lot like exhaust. The thing is, I can see where the smoke is coming from. Under the hood, Facing the car, it is under the passenger-side dash all the way at the bottom where the frame of the engine is resting on some pipe that splits into a double pipe that then runs further under the car. It looks like it goes to the gas tank or the exhaust system...one or the other, but you can see it from under the hood. Also, last night the hose that is above that, the one that seems to run from under the radiator to the engine, was broken and I taped it up as a temporary solution. Any help?
