Brake Junction Box Switch Leaking ( Replace with bolt and seal ? ) 200 1990

My Brake box switch started leaking in my 1990 240 ... I understand from reading the threads on this, that a leaking switch most likely means the junction box is leaking internally, so replacing the switch won't fix the leak. This car has lived it's life outdoors in the NE ( salty ) US, so replacing this junction box and bleeding the system could turn out to be a major pain, due to corrosion.

I'm thinking of just removing the switch and replacing with 1/8" deep bolt with seal under it. Does anyone know the bolt thread used on switch unit ???

I know that this will completely eliminate the brake failure warning light feature and I'm not happy about that. But this is not a job I have the time to get into myself , as it may well turn into something much bigger and farming it out will likely cost $$$ ( cause I'm sure the garage WILL turn it into something much bigger ). At this point I'm just trying to keep the car peiced together for another year without spending a ton of time/effort/money on it.

Has anyone done this ? Any opinions if I'm nuts for even thinking about doing this ?

Thanks for any ideas on this ( and hopefully the bolt thread ! )

Will let you know if I do this , how it works out ...

Todd
