...hello, I'm trying to figure out how to tell if my A/C has been converted from the old system to the new, legal one.
I live in the Canadian prairies, so AC is only used for a month or two at most.

When I purchased the car, I was told it was converted. The AC worked for a month then ran out. No biggie....but, is there an "under hood" way to tell what's up?

or should I just drive it in to a shop, tell them to charge it for $40, and wait and see if they have bad news for me?
